FREE Basic Computing Skills with TasTAFE. Please note this is an ONLINE course. You will be enrolled in Certificate 1 in Information, Digital Media and Technology.
Develop your computing skills and knowledge to improve your access to further education, training or employment.This computing course is ideal if you already know a little bit about computing, but are now looking to expand your knowledge and skills – and the best bit… its fee free for eligible Tasmanian residents!In this course, you will learn about a range of digital devices, as well as gain valuable skills in basic word processing. You’ll learn how to create and manage documents and spreadsheets, undertake simple formatting tasks, and create presentations in PowerPoint. You’ll also learn how to create and manage folders and files, and effectively use the internet and email for searching and communication.
This is a self-paced course. Upon enrolment, you will have a maximum of 180 days in which to complete all course content and assessment activities. Most often, students complete in less than 100 days.
This program has a rolling intake so you can start whenever you like. TasTAFE teachers provide online support, and you can also access local learning support right here at the Library.
Designed to be done in your own home or you are welcome to come in and use our computers.
