Mental Health & Wellbeing in the Creative Workforce

  • Mon 5th Aug 2019, 5:45 PM - 7:45 PM
  • 6 Washington St, South Hobart TAS 7004

Wide Angle Tasmania invites producers and employers in the creative sector to join us for a free workshop that explores our role in providing environments that promote mental health, well-being and resilience amongst creative practitioners.

This introductory 90 minute workshop will provide a shared language around mental health to set the stage for our sector to work towards creating mentally healthy and supportive workplaces.

As places are limited, please RSVP on the Wide Angle WEBSITE to indicate your interest in attending - we will confirm your place no later than July 15, 2019.

Those who attend the workshop are eligible to apply for a fee-free enrolment in a 12 hour standard Mental Health First Aid course (see below for details).

Clare Pearson – Executive Officer of OzHelp Tasmania (and Raw Nerve director of ‘Knit One’) will facilitate the workshop.

This Youth Arts Project was assisted through Arts Tasmania and Screen Tasmania by the Minister for the Arts.

The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches people (18 years and over) how to offer initial support to adults who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves. The course curriculum is evidence-based, as informed by the MHFA guidelines.

Please note this course is not a therapy or support group, rather it is an education course to learn how to give first aid to others.
